MRV Professional Development Programme

The programme is designed for professionals, managers, technical specialists and public-sector personnel working or intending to work in Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV), greenhouse-gas accounting, climate reporting, sustainability, environmental management, energy, industry, consulting and related fields. It is suitable for participants from government institutions, public-sector organisations, private companies, consulting firms and development programmes.

MRV stands for Measurement, Reporting and Verification. MRV provides a structured approach for collecting, managing, reporting and verifying information related to greenhouse-gas emissions, mitigation activities and climate-related performance.

The programme consists of 12 structured training days, followed by a four-week workplace MRV application period. The workplace period allows participants to apply the knowledge and competencies developed during the training to a practical professional context.

Participants develop practical knowledge and competencies in MRV principles, GHG accounting, climate reporting, data management, data quality, QA/QC, verification readiness, project-level MRV, carbon-market mechanisms and related climate-reporting practices.

Previous professional experience in MRV is helpful but is not necessarily required. The programme introduces the fundamental concepts before progressing to more advanced and applied MRV topics. Participants should have an appropriate professional, technical, environmental, energy, sustainability or related background and be prepared to undertake professional-level training.
